Goin’ Down Garb was started by two dudes in Austin, Texas who noticed a couple of worrisome trends and decided to do something about it.

First, they saw that a bunch of people were selling hats for like $37 dollars. That sucks. Hats shouldn’t cost that much. And I think we all know that, right?

Additionally, it seems like there’s a ton of people buying t-shirts and bumperstickers and whatever that just advertise the name/logo of some outdoorsy(ish) brand.

This second trend isn’t so bad on its face; we love camping and hiking and getting drunk on a boat in the woods just as much as the next guys.

But what’s lame is when that t-shirt or bumpersticker or hat becomes a shitty status-symbol, and a replacement from, ya know, actually partying and doing that cool stuff you like to do.

That’s why we started making these hats. We believe there’s a group of cool people who want cool hats that they can wear without getting too pissed off when someone spills a beer on them at a music festival or they accidentally get dirty (god forbid).
